Dhaban Marine park is a really nice park for families to visit, located about 20 minutes north of the private beaches in North Ubhur.  The entrance fee is 7JD per person.

It’s fairly large, has toilet facilities, 2 large play areas for children aged up to approximately 10 years (one which has partial cover), one area with work out equipment for older children and adults, an area where people can be creative (mural section), seating areas, is situated on the beach, so nice view of the sea and there are some shaded hut-like areas on the sand for people to sit under.
For Saudi standards, this park is really great, as it has grass areas, lots of plants, a sand area, bins, toilets and so far it has been maintained pretty well, although there is a bit of rubbish here and there.   Please be mindful of others and throw your trash in the bins. I would suggest visiting the park in the early morning or after 4pm, particularly during the cooler months.

If you have younger ones, bring along their favourite sand toys eg shovels and buckets, as one play area is covered with sand (and there’s also the beach area). My 3 yr old son had a really good time playing in the sand and on the play equipment. I would suggest packing your own lunch and drinks, as there are no cafes or restaurants in the park area and it’s a bit of a drive to grab a bite to eat.
It’s a nice park for a leisurely stroll and just to sit back and relax. Its fairly quiet during the daytime but I haven’t visited it in the evening, so I couldn’t say how busy it gets.  Where it is situated, there is ample parking, so even if it does get a bit busy, you never have to worry about finding a parking spot.

  1. Thanks for this, it looks fantastic. We will take the little ones there soon as the temp / humidity drops.
1 question, would you have to have GPS coordinates or a link on Google Maps?
    Thanks
